LEXINGTON — A Division II regional semifinal at Lexington High School Thursday pitted the Northern Buckeye Conference champs against the Western Buckeye League champs, and the NBC champs, Lake (21-6), just keep making history.

SANDUSKY — Two Eastwood freshmen, forward Ava Kachmarik and midfielder Josie Applehans, scored to lead the Eagles to a 2-0 shutout over Apple Creek Waynedale in a Division III regional final Tuesday at Cedar Point Stadium.

GENOA — Eastwood senior running back Caiden Maize scored on a four-yard run with 36 seconds remaining to propel the Eagles to a 36-29 Northern Buckeye Conference victory over Genoa at Genoa Bank Stadium Friday.

TONTOGANY — Otsego volleyball advanced to the Division II district tournament with a 25-12, 25-22, 25-13 win over Napoleon on the Knights’ home court Thursday.

MILLBURY — Lake senior forward Brianna Braatz had a three-goal hat trick in leading the Flyers to a 5-0 Division II girls soccer tournament win over visiting Napoleon at Lake Community Stadium Tuesday.

PEMBERVILLE — Behind the running of 6-foot, 205 senior back Dalton Witter, Oak Harbor pounded Eastwood’s defense with their ground game, earning a 35-21 Northern Buckeye Conference win at Jerry Rutherford Stadium.

GENOA — Eastwood girls soccer knew they had to defeat a good Genoa team on the road Thursday to have a chance for a sixth straight Northern Buckeye Conference crown.
