Fostoria offers ABLE classes
FOSTORIA – Orientation for Fostoria Adult Basic Literacy Education or ABLE classes for those wanting 2014
GED certification for completion of high school requirements will be held on Monday and Wednesday at the
Fostoria Junior/Senior High School in room 121. The times are 8:30 to11:30 a.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. both
days. Participants must be there for one entire two-part session, either morning session both days or an
evening session both days.
Weather related school delays or cancellations would also apply to orientation. Either a delay or
cancellation on either day would cancel orientation for that day.
Those participating in orientation can begin classes as soon as the two-part process is completed.
Questions can be answered by calling 419-436-4163 between 8:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Longer school days not an option at Eastwood
PEMBERVILLE – After considering the feedback from parents in addition to that of certified and classified
staff, Eastwood Schools administrators have decided that the best course of action will be to make up
all calamity school days at the end of the school year.
The district has asked for feedback from parents on the idea of extended the school day for 30 minutes
for three weeks.
The level of disruption extending the school day would bring to the lives of students, parents, teachers
and support staff would limit the benefits gained by extending the day, according to Superintendent
Brent Welker.
