Volunteers in BG shave heads for child cancer research

The St. Baldrick’s Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer
research, will host one of its signature head-shaving events at Bowling Green State University.
The second annual St. Baldrick’s@BGSU will be held Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in 228 Bowen-Thompson
Student Union.
The head shaving kicks off at 9:30 a.m. with BGSU President Mary Ellen Mazey and Jill Carr, vice
president for student affairs, wielding the razor for the first few volunteers. The goal is to raise
$20,000 to help fight childhood cancer.
Two salons are donating their haircutting services. Stylists from Ambrosia Salon and Spa in Bowling Green
will shave heads in the morning and employees from Honeycomb Salon and Spa, also in Bowling Green, will
take afternoon duties. People can walk-in to have their head shaved or donate it to Pantene Beautiful
Lengths.
The event is hosted by the Falcon chapter of the National Residence Hall Honorary, with assistance from
local corporate sponsors.
