3 face arson, murder charges

FOSTORIA – Three people face multiple arson and murder charges after a fire that killed two and injured
another.
The fire was reported at 3:05 a.m. Monday at 614 S. Poplar St. The names of the two deceased and one
surviving victim have not been released.
Arrested were Fostoria residents Shey L. Weiker, 31; Charles V. Schaeffer, 44; and Timothy D. Hall, 20.

Weiker is charged with four counts of aggravated arson, two counts of aggravated murder and one count
each of attempted aggravated murder and tampering with evidence.
Schaeffer and Hall are each charged with four counts of complicity to aggravated arson, two counts of
complicity to commit aggravated murder and one count of complicity to commit attempted aggravated
murder. Hall also faces one count of tampering with evidence.
One firefighter was hurt falling through stairs while responding to the blaze, but he has since returned
to work.
