A Mass of Christian burial for Jack Emerson Romaker will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Louis Catholic
Church, Custar. Fr. Jeff Nordhaus will officiate. A graveside service with military honors will follow
at St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Custar.
Visitation will be held beginning at 11 a.m. Monday at the church prior to the Mass.
Mr. Romaker, 83, of Tucson, Arizona and formerly of Custar, died Sunday (May 31, 2009) in Tucson.
A World War II veteran, he served in the Army Air Corps.
He worked for General Motors, Defiance, and retired in 1986.
In addition to his membership at the church, Mr. Romaker was a member of Knights of Columbus and a
62-year member of Nocross-Meyers American Legion Post No. 305, Custar.
He enjoyed traveling and riding his Harley Davidson, including trips across the country. He also enjoyed
camping and backpacked the Grand Canyon when he was 75 years old.
He was a graduate of Milton Township High School
Born March 24, 1926 in Toledo, to Anthony P. and Mildred A. (Duesburg) Romaker, he married Kaylene L.
Emans on April 16, 1948. She died Oct. 4, 2000.
He also was preceded in death by a brother, James.
Surviving are two daughters, Jacqueline Knepper, Tucson, and Theresa Garner, Jerry City; a son, Dale,
Tucson; two brothers, Gene, Bowling Green, and Donald of Wayne; six grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.
