Perrysburg teens ready for Boys, Girls State

PERRYSBURG ? American Legion Post 28 has appointed delegates to attend Buckeye Boys State, which will be
held June 13-21 at Bowling Green State University.
Delegates have also been appointed to attend Buckeye Girls State, which is set for June 14-20 at Ashland
University.
David Brach, who attends Perrysburg High School, is the son of Larry and Janet Brach. He is involved in
cross country, track and field, Teen Institute, the Maumee Community Band, speech and debate club,
symphony orchestra and marching and concert band. He is also an Eagle Scout.
Jonathan Elder attends Perrysburg High School and is the son of Rhonda Elder. His activities include
Explorer Post Mock Trial, concert orchestra, lifeguard, varsity swim team and environmental club In
scouts, he is a junior assistant scout master and an Eagle Scout. He was a McCain-Palin campaign worker.

Joseph Hoffman attends St. Francis de Sales High School in Toledo and is the son of Mark and Carol Ann
Hoffman. His activities include ambassador club, All-Saints youth group, baseball, water polo and campus
ministry.
He is a lieutenant in the Rossford Fire Explorers and a helper for Safety Town.
Colin Bilski attends Perrysburg High School and is the son of Gary and Erin Bilski. He is on the PASA
Teen Executive Board and treasurer of student council. He is also on the cross country team.
Daniel Mettert attends Perrysburg High School and is the son of Bradley and Jennifer Mettert. He is being
sponsored by Walter Weller Post 135.
He is a member of his church youth group, the ping pong club, choir and pop ensemble. He is also a jazz
singer and a volunteer for Kingston residence.
Attending Buckeye Girls State through post 28 are Elaina Sauber, Mary Pummill and Jessi Patterson, who
all attend Perrysburg High School.
Sauber is the daughter of Tess Gordon. She words at Twisty Treat and is a member of the Technical Crew
Theatre and chorus. She volunteers for Harrison Rally Day.
Pummill is the daughter of Brian Pummill. She is a member of Pride Club, PASA and soccer. The volunteers
for Make a Wish and the Kidney Foundation.
Patterson is the daughter of Jay Patterson. She is involved in drama, Celtics, French and Spanish clubs,
student council, homecoming committee, PASA, soccer and Students for Christ.
She is a member of the YMCA Leaders Club, Women?s Select Show Choir and Community Service Committee. She
