LIBERTY CENTER – Josephine (Cymbola) Smith, 89, of Liberty Center, died Friday (June 12, 2009) at her
home.
Mrs. Smith retired in 1981 from Gould’s/Tenneco in Napoleon after more than 25 years of employment. She
was a member of the AmVets and V.F.W. auxiliaries in Napoleon. She enjoyed working in her garden,
traveling, mushroom hunting and taking gambling trips to various locations.
She was born Dec. 30, 1919 in Liberty Center to Vincent and Mary (Kracow) Cymbola. She married Clyde
Orville Smith on Sept. 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death on April 3, 1974.
Four sisters and four brothers also preceded her in death.
Surviving are a sister, Stella Balog, Liberty Center; a brother, Ed, Colton; and longtime companion,
Cliff Herr, Grand Rapids.
Burial will be private at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Grand Rapids.
Visitation will be Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. at Wright-Hobbs Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, followed by a
memorial service at 7 p.m.
