Kincaid leads Jackets to NLL gymnastics title

TOLEDO Perrysburg won its ninth consecutive Northern Lakes League gymnastics championship, narrowly defeating second place Anthony Wayne, 137.8-132.075 at Exceleration Gymnastics Center Saturday.

Sylvania Northview (128.7) finished third, followed by Findlay (128.05), Springfield (120.05), Napoleon (117.6), Clay (115.45), and Toledo Whitmer (35.5).

Perrysburg’s Ava Kincaid, who was named NLL Gymnast of the Year, won the all-around, scoring 36.2 to defeat second place Brooke Miller (AW), 35.425.

Kincaid, who won three events, won the vault, scoring 9.3 to defeat Miller (8.9), Kincaid scored 8.9 in the uneven bars to defeat second place Emmy Omlor from Findlay, who scored 8.7. Miller defeated Kincaid in the floor exercise, 9.425-9.3.

Perrysburg gymnasts finished one-two in the beam with Kenna Hire taking the league championship with a score of 8.8 and Kincaid following at 8.65.

In the vault, Perrysburg gymnasts Elyza Byrd (8.85), Kylee Ruiz (8.6), and Elizabeth Sorg (8.4) took third through fifth. Perrysburg’s Madelynn Brossia scored 7.9, Elise Findling scored 7.85, and Janie Snyder scored 6.6

In the uneven bars, Byrd was fifth at 8.3 and Perrysburg’s Sydney Wolfinger was sixth at 8.25. McKenna Conley and Camryn Butler both scored 8.0 and Valerie Ward scored 7.15.

In the beam, Perrysburg’s Abbi Lee was seventh at 8.45, Snyder scored 7.9, Lauren Cline scored 7.8 and Conley scored 7.5.

In the floor exercise, Snyder finished third at 9.1, Lee and Hire tied for fifth, both scoring 8.725, and Cline was seventh at 8.6. Kylee Ruiz scored 7.1 for the Yellow Jackets.
