BGSU baseball lands program-record 17 on Academic All-MAC list

Bowling Green had a league-high 17 players named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference list, setting the program-record for the third straight season after having 15 named following the 2022 season and 10 in 2021.

The MAC announced the list for the 2023 baseball season Friday morning.

The Falcons list of recipients includes Nathan Archer, Adam Fallon, Gavin Ganun, Nic Good, Kyle Gurney, Tyler Hays, Ryan Johnston, Jack Krause, Connar Penrod, Rigo Ramos, Owen Recker, Nathan Rose, Tyler Ross, Gage Schenk, Isaiah Seidel, Landon Willeman and Peyton Wilson.

There were 102 student-athletes named across the conference. Bowling Green’s 17 tops the Mid-American Conference followed by Western Michigan’s 15 and Kent State’s 14.

The Academic All-MAC team honor is bestowed upon a student-athlete who has excelled in both athletics and academics. To qualify, said student-athlete must have at least a 3.2 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests for that particular sport.

First-year students and junior-college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award.
