Celebrate 1000 Books Before Kindergarten with a concert

Celebrate 1000 Books Before Kindergarten with a family concert from children’s musician Jim Gill at the Wood County District Public Library, 251 N. Main St. The sing-a-thon will be held in the atrium on June 17 at 11 a.m.

Get ready to sing, clap, dance and spin along during this visit by award-winning musician and author Jim Gill. Gill’s distinctive music play creates the spirit of a family room in the concert hall and is an invitation to children, parents and grandparents to sing and play together.

Gill is a musician and author known for celebrating active play. In concert, Gill strums energizing rhythms on his banjo while everyone sings, claps, dances and spins along to his silly and inspiring musical games. Each concert is more than a show to watch – it is an opportunity for family play.

This concert is part of Gill’s ongoing celebration of the release of his newest collection of recordings. The three CDs are called “Jim Gill’s Most Celebrated Songs” and are filled with his best and most active music play. Gill promises, in concert, to share a non-stop selection of sing-alongs, dance-alongs, finger plays and tongue twisters. And he will feature a read-along and sing-along of, at least, one of his musical books.

The concert will feature Gill’s ‘Silly Dance Contest,” his jazzy “One from the Left” finger play and other opportunities for children, parents and grandparents to sing and play together.
