The Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting for Culver’s restaurant opening on May 1 at 8:45 a.m.

The event will be held at the new location at 125 W. Gypsy Lane Road and will open with congratulatory words from Chamber Director Mary Hinkelman and Mayor Mike Aspacher as they welcome owner Ben Galaviz and the Culver’s staff to the business community.

Culver’s offers a variety of menu items including burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, salad, fish, Reubens, melts, pot roast, soups and their famous custards.

Galaviz is also the owner of two other Culver’s locations, in Perrysburg and Holland, Ohio.

Approximately 60 new jobs were created with the opening of this location.

In 1984, Craig and Lea Culver, along with Craig’s parents George and Ruth, opened the very first Culver’s in the family’s hometown of Sauk City, Wisconsin, and began serving ButterBurgers and Frozen Custard, according to the Culver’s website.

There is no registration required for the ribbon cutting, and it is open to everyone in the Bowling Green community.
