Falcons, Rockets to face off again at Fifth Third Field

TOLEDO – The baseball programs at Bowling Green State University and the University of Toledo will return to Fifth Third Field this season for the third annual game between the Rockets and Falcons played in downtown Toledo.

The baseball edition of the Battle of I-75 rivalry series was first played at Fifth Third Field in 2021. This year’s game is scheduled for Friday, May 19 with a 7 p.m. first pitch.

“We are looking forward to the Battle of I-75 game at Fifth Third Field,” BGSU coach Kyle Hallock said. “This great rivalry is being played on the biggest stage we have in Northwest Ohio.

“Each of the past two years, this game has produced a tremendous college baseball environment and we know this year will be no different.”

The home team for the game will continue to alternate with Toledo serving as the host this season. Bowling Green was the home team in 2022 and Toledo in 2021. The game at Fifth Third Field will mark the third of four games in the Battle of I-75 this season.

The first game is scheduled for April 26 at 4 p.m. with the rest of the series set for May 18 at 3 p.m. and May 20 at 2 p.m. Those three games will be played at Scott Park in Toledo.
