Flowerpot contest, raffle brightens BG Art Walk

The 31st Annual Art Walk will take place throughout downtown Bowling Green on May 13 from 11 a.m.-3 p.m., followed by a reception at the Wood County Senior Center, 140 S. Grove St., starting at 3:30 pm.

This free event welcomes everyone to come experience the work of many local artists and participate in this year’s flowerpot raffle.

Anyone can stop by the Downtown Bowling Green’s Special Improvement District Office at 217 S. Church St., located in the Four Corners Center, to pick up a flowerpot for $15; cash or checks can be written out to the Downtown Foundation Inc.

Decorate it and return it to the downtown office before 5 p.m. on May 5 so it can be ready to be showcased at the senior center during Art Walk.

The flowerpot that receives the most votes will receive $50 in Downtown Dollars. The number of flowerpots available is limited.

Attach name, phone number and address to the flowerpot. Creative embellishments are encouraged.

All proceeds of the raffle will go toward the Downtown Foundation’s Flower Fund, which is used to purchase and maintain the blooms that fill the downtown in the spring and summer.

For a chance to a flowerpot, raffle tickets much be purchased during Art Walk at the senior center on May 13. Raffle tickets cost $1 each or 6 tickets for $5. The flowerpot show will take place at the senior center. The flowerpot raffle will be held after 3:30 during the Art Walk Reception.
