Bowling Green High School

The Bowling Green Exchange Club and Bowling Green High School have announced that Colton Keefe is the January Student of the Month.

He is a senior and the son of Brian and Megan Keefe.

His school honors and activities include membership in the National Honors Society, Spanish Honors Society, scholar athlete award, and academic all-district. He is a member of the football and wrestling teams all four years in high school, and is captain of the wrestling team this season.

Throughout high school, he has taken many honors and AP courses. He currently has a composite ACT score of 33 and a 4.31 grade point average.

Outside of school, Keefe is a Junior Bobcat youth football coach, Bobcat Biddy youth wrestling volunteer coach and a Firefly Nights volunteer.

After high school, he will attend the United States Air Force Academy and study aviation.

Eastwood High School

Mariah Hahn has been named the Student of the Month for January at Eastwood High School.

She is the daughter of Jeff and Brooke Hahn, Perrysburg.

She participates in varsity golf and varsity track and field, and is president of Key Club, secretary of FFA, vice president of senior executive council and vice president of National Honor Society.

She is a member of One Step Ahead and Zion Lutheran Church as well as the Portage Valley 4-H Club. She was selected as the 2022 Wood County Fair queen.

Hahn plans to attend Bowling Green State University or the University of Toledo to study exercise science/pre-med.

Otsego High School

Alyssa Malanowski was selected as the January Student of the Month at Otsego High School.

Also honored were Penta Career Center senior Riley King, junior Cadence Hamrick, sophomore Lisa Seeger and freshman Katie Cardenas.

Malanowski, who has a 4.098 GPA, is the daughter of Christopher and Lindsay Malanowski.

She has been a two-year member of National Honor Society, drama club, yearbook and DECA.

Malanowski is serving as yearbook editor and lead lighting designer, engineer and stage manager for the drama club. She is on student council, is CEO of Knight and Day Cafe and is a three-year member of the speech and debate club.

She volunteers for Sun Federal Credit Union and at Plain Congregational Church.

She plans to major in data science/business analytics at an undecided university.

King has participated in wrestling for four years and football for eight years.

He has a 4.222 GPA and his parents are Crystal Stankiewcz and Aaron King, Weston. His goal is to attend Kent State University and become a board certified vet technician.

Hamrick is the daughter of Andrea Hamrick, Grand Rapids. She is the vice president of book and media club and was a 2023 OMEA honors choir member.

Seeger is the daughter of Mandy Seeger and Dean Seeger, Bowling Green.

She has been a member of swing choir, varsity track and varsity cheerleading for one year and varsity cross country, Knights Have Your Back and Boy Scouts for two years.

Cardenas is the daughter of Tricia Cardenas and Gabriel Cardenas, Grand Rapids.

She has been in band for four years and is second chair flute, and has been a member of book and media club and the speech and debate club for one year.
