Grace Rae Long, 102 of rural Findlay passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on September 16, 1920 to the late Alvah L. and Lucy B. (Gershon) James. Grace married Wesley R. Long, Jr. on July 13, 1946 and he preceded her in death on November 19, 1985. She is survived by her son, David (Ann) Long of Findlay, daughters; Wesley Rae (Tom) Jorgensen of Van Buren, Jon Adele (Dan) Bender of Durango, CO, Mary (Bruce) Bash of Idaho Falls, Idaho, sixteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson. Mrs. Long was also preceded in death by her son, Victor James Long, daughter, Margaret Jo (G.T.) Scaife, three brothers and two sisters. Grace was a member of the Hoytville United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed traveling, making new friends, quilting, collecting Santa Clauses and was a member of the Sr. Ladies Literary Club. Grace worked for East Ohio Gas, Fostoria Hospital and the McComb Local Schools.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 from 3:00 – 7:00 PM at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at Coldren-Crates Funeral Home with Rev. Hugh Bowland officiating. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Grace to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
