Author, politician David Pepper visits Perrysburg bookstore

PERRYSBURG— Gathering Volumes, an independent bookstore, is hosting two discussions with author David Pepper on Tuesday.

At 6 p.m., Toledo Persists will lead a book club discussion of Pepper’s “Laboratories of Autocracy,” a cautionary dialogue of how state legislatures, often ignored, play a significant role in deciding our constitutional rights.

At 7 p.m., there will be a traditional author event and book signing featuring Pepper’s political thrillers. There will be an author reading, question-and-answer session and a book signing. Light refreshments will be provided. The event is free and open to the public.

Pepper is a lawyer, writer, political activist, former elected official and adjunct professor. He served as chairman of the Ohio Democratic Party from 2015-21. Pepper is the author of four novels integrating real-world politics and fiction. He also teaches election and voting rights law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
