PERRYSBURG — Way Public Library will present a screening of “Holiday Affair” on Monday at 2 p.m. Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh star in this light-hearted romantic comedy.
Way’s Reel Art International and Art Film Series continues on Friday at 7 p.m., with a showing of “Children of a Lesser God,” a 1986 American romantic drama. An energetic new teacher, James Leeds (William Hurt), arrives at a school for the deaf and hard of hearing in New England. He soon sees a young deaf woman Sarah Norman (Marlee Matlin) working as a janitor. James pursues her and she eventually agrees to go to dinner. The relationship between James and Sarah develops. Sarah does not want to vocalize, and James eventually agrees not to try to force her. The tension of learning how to stay connected between the world of silence and the world of sound is observed throughout the film.
