Church offers free drive-thru dinner

A free drive-thru community meal hosted by First Christian Church of Bowling Green, 875 Haskins Road, will be held Friday from 5-6 p.m.

This meal is offered to anyone who needs a meal. This month’s menu includes chicken pot pie, green beans, fruit cup and a cookie.

The food bag distribution will continue, thanks to the support of St. Thomas More University Parish and the BG Christian Food Pantry. The toiletries pantry will be available again this month thanks to First Presbyterian Church. Participants are also offered a variety of breads and pastries provided by the Bowling Green Christian Food Pantry. Volunteers from the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints provide event help including the distribution of the food bags and bread/pastries.

Participants need to remain in their car. Volunteers will take their order, hand deliver meal(s) and direct participants to the bread and pastries.

Rotary club hears Downtown Forward update

The Bowling Green Rotary Club guest speaker on Thursday will be Russell Mills, senior director at Center of Regional Development, Bowling Green State University.

He will give an update on Bowling Green’s “Downtown Forward” initiative. The club meets at noon on Thursday at Bowling Green Country Club.

‘Holiday Spectacular’ on mall stage

Julie’s Dance Studio will hold a Holiday Spectacular on Saturday at the Star Style Theater in the Woodland Mall, 1234 N. Main St.

There will be a 2 p.m. show with Santa, hot cocoa and cookies.

From 7-8 p.m., “mingle and jingle,” then stay for an 8 p.m. show.

Tickets are available at the box office one hour before each show. The cost is $5 for children and $10 for adults.

Come drum with the circle

A Community Drum Circle is set for Sunday from 5-6 p.m. at the Maumee Valley UU Congregation, 20189 N. Dixie Hwy.

All ages and experience levels are welcome. Bring an instrument, or borrow one from the group. The goal is to have fun and create musical rhythms and sounds together.
