ROSSFORD – Additional hazardous material was found during the demolition of Eagle Point School resulting in an extra $50,000 cost.

The original contract with Klumm Brothers was $357,000. The contract provided for a 10% contingency fee, or $35,000. The change order was for $49,995, for $406,995.

At last week’s meeting, council approved the additional $14,295, which was outside the contingency fee.

Also at the meeting, the Ohio Auditor’s Office representative, Lori Brodie, presented Rossford Finance Director Kelly O’Boyle and Award with Distinction for excellence in financial reporting for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and compliance for 2022.

Council approved the repayment of a $278,451 portion of the advanced funds from the large TIF Fund 370 to the small TIF 371 from 2018 to 2022. The total for the time period is $1.16 million. The remaining balance will be $888,215. There will still be $109,136 in the 371 Fund for cashflow purposes.

It was also noted that, going forward, that a portion will be able to be repaid, as growth in the Blue TIF is now making enough for the annual debt payments.

Council also approved amending the 2022 appropriation budget supplemental of $405,583, which includes $52,516 for for outside contractors, $74,615 for the City portion of the PY20 Chip Grant and $278,451 for the TIF Crossroads 2.

The council approved a resolution authorizing an application for a $60,000 block grant from the Wood County Park District for improvements to the Beech Street Park pickleball facilities.

Rockin’ Rossford – Racing for Recovery 5K Race and 1 Mile Walk will take place on Saturday from 6-9:45 a.m. The city is asking that residents living on the route should plan accordingly by parking outside the race area if they need to leave during the race.

The following roadways will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7:45-9:30 a.m.: Dixie Highway from Bergin Street to Rosedale Place, Rossway Avenue, Vineyard Drive, Rosedale Lane, Island View Park and Eagle Point Road from Dixie Highway to Jennings Road, and Colony Road from Eagle Point to the Roundabout.
