Perrysburg chorale sings two concerts this weekend
Perrysburg Symphony Chorale will present fall concerts on Friday at 7 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church,
315 S. College Drive, Bowling Green, and Sunday at 2 p.m. at Perrysburg First United Methodist Church,
200 W. Second St., Perrysburg.
Under the direction of Daniel Catalano, the chorale will perform "Sing Joyfully" by William
Byrd, "If Ye Love Me" by Thomas Tallis, music of John Rutter, Gabriel Faure, Felix
Mendelssohn, J.S. Bach; and a Brazilian piece "Salmo 150" by Ernani Aguiar.  
Tickets are $10 and $5 seniors and students.
Sunday’s concert will benefit Missions International of America, which was founded by Drs. Jay and Jan
Nielsen of Perrysburg.
The goal of the Perrysburg Symphony Chorale is to provide members of the community a place to learn and
perform musical works of classical and contemporary composers and to provide quality performances for
the music lovers in the community.
The chorale welcomes singers to join rehearsals on Mondays at 7 p.m. at Perrysburg First United Methodist
Church.  The next concert is a holiday show Dec. 13.
Junior high strings join orchestra for concert
PERRYSBURG – The Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra will perform a side-by-side concert with string players
from the Perrysburg Junior High School Saturday at 7 p.m.
The concert will; feature guest violinist Merwin Siu, of the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, as soloist on the
Concerto for Violin and Orchestra by Samuel Barber.
Tickets are $12 and $10 for seniors and free to students and children.  
Holiday song & dance on tap in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS – The Grand Rapids Arts Council will present a program of Christmas music and dance during
Grand Rapids Christmas Open House on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Grand Rapids Town Hall.  
Featured will be the Children’s Choir of Northwest Ohio’s Bel Canto Choir for students in grades 5
through 10, and dance students of the Defying Gravity Dance Studio.
The Defying Gravity dance studio of Grand Rapids offers a variety of dance classes for all ages. Sarah
Radabaugh, the director of the studio, will be presenting students between the ages of 3 and 18.
A freewill offering will be taken during the concert.
Toledo Rep casting ‘Marriage Hearse"
TOLEDO – Auditions for the Toledo Rep’s "All Aboard the Marriage Hearse" will be held at the
Toledo Repertoire Theatre, 16 10th Street on Saturday at 1 p.m. with November 22.
Directed by Irina Zaurov, this comedy drama by Matt Morillo serves as a Toledo Rep Valentine’s Day
special event on Feb. 13, 14 and 15. For information visit www.toledorep.org.
Rossini opera featured in ‘The Met: Live in HD’
The Metropolitan Opera’s production of Gioacchino Rossini’s "Il Barbiere di Siviglia" will be
screened as part of the "The Met: Live in HD" series Saturday at 1 p.m. at Cinemark’s  Fallen
Timbers 14 in  Maumee and Franklin Park 16  in Toledo.
The theaters will screen encore showings on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
This production features Isabel Leonard, Lawrence Brownlee and Christopher Maltman with Michele Mariotti 
conducting.
