Wall joins BG men’s soccer staff
Travis Wall has been named a volunteer assistant coach for Bowling Green’s men’s soccer team, the school
announced Thursday.
He spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at St. Thomas (Minn.). The Columbus native was the
NCAA Division III player of the year as a senior in 2011 when he had 19 goals and 15 assists to help
Ohio Wesleyan win a national championship.
Weidinger homers three times in one game
CLEVELAND – Owens Community College’s Tori Weidinger homered three times in the second game of a
doubleheader Wednesday, a 19-0 six-inning win over Cuyahoga CC.
The Express swept the doubleheader, posting a 3-2 win in Game 1.
Weidinger, the first Owens player to homer three times in a game, finished the day 7-for-8 with three
home runs, six runs scored, a double and eight RBI.
She raised her season average up to .526 with 10 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 17 runs and 30
RBI in 57 at-bats.
Elmwood High School graduate Brittany George was 4-for-9 in the two games with five runs, three RBI and
two doubles. She’s hitting .509 with eight doubles, two triples, three home runs and 21 RBIs in 53 at
bats.
Owens is 16-2 overall and 6-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Owens baseball loses twice
TIFFIN – Heidelberg’s junior varsity baseball team posted a 17-2, 14-3 sweep Thursday of Owens Community
College. Owens is 8-16 overall.
In the first game, Zach Kazmierski and Taran Temple homered for Owens.
Charlie Sipe singled twice and Lakota High School graduate Tiger Jaso added a single for Owens in the
second game game.
BG Skating Club performance set for Saturday
The Bowling Green Skating Club presents Broadway Extravaganza Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Ice Arena.
In addition to the ice skating performances, a silent auction will be held. Items to bid on include
Toledo Mud Hens and Walleye tickets, a Toledo Zoo family membership and BG Community Center passes.

‘Hens lose on the road
INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis scored a run in the bottom of the ninth inning Thursday for a 4-3 win over
Toledo in an International League game.
J.D. Martinez was 3-for-4 with a home run for Toledo, while James McCann was 2-for-4.
