Christian Scientist to speak Wednesday

PERRYSBURG — Fujiko Signs, a Christian Science lecturer who splits her time between the United States and
Japan, will discuss how people can overcome various limitations during a free public talk on Thursday.

Her 7:30 p.m. talk will be at the Hilton Garden Inn in Levis Commons. The title of the presentation is
Love without Limit, Life without Fear.
Signs studies the relationship between prayer and healing and brings a message of hope and promise to her
audience by showing how prayer can be an effective treatment in healing difficulties and bring greater
comfort to peoples’ lives.
Her introduction to Christian Science came when she fell quite ill. She sought healing through different
treatments, but none gave her a lasting cure. As soon as she started reading about Christian Science, a
prayer-based system of healing, she was relieved from various stress and limitations and realized she no
longer suffered from the symptoms that had previously limited her.
“I’ve always had an interest in healing and serving others and when I encountered the teachings of
Christian Science I found both: the underlying principle that Jesus used to heal others but I also
understood that the science part is really universal and shows us that God is impartial, unconditional
and loving,” she said.
Now a full-time practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, Signs speaks internationally as a
member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship. Previous to that she was a market research
consultant for computer manufacturing companies and taught Japanese language and literature at community
colleges and universities across the United States.
Her talk is a community service of the First Church of Christ, Scientist in Maumee.
