Falcons shut out at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON, Mich. — The 10th-ranked Bowling Green Falcons were stymied in a 2-0 loss to Michigan Tech
Friday night in the MacInnes Student Ice Arena.
The Falcons, losing for the second time in three games, dropped to 14-5-3 overall and 9-4-2 in the
Western Collegiate Hockey Association. Michigan Tech is 11-10-2, 10-4-1.
Bowling Green was without leading goal scorer Lukas Craggs, who is out with an upper-body injury. He’ll
miss Saturday night’s game as well.
The Huskies scored twice in the third period to break a 0-0 tie after 40 minutes and Bowling Green didn’t
have an answer. Michigan Tech goaltender Robbie Beydoun stopped all 27 shots he faced, including 13 in
the first period.
It was the fourth time Bowling Green has been shut out this season.
Falcons goaltender Ryan Bednard recorded 28 saves. He surrendered the first goal at 6:47 in the third
period. The second came at 10:13. Both were even-strength goals.
Bednard is 12-4-2 on the season.
Bowling Green was outshot 30-27 for the game, including 10-5 in the third period.
The Falcons were 0-for-3 on the power play.
