Organizations: Timeless Treasures (06-10-11)

BRADNER – The Timeless Treasures held their June meeting at the Country Farmhouse in Wayne. Eighteen
members were present for the noon meal.
President Jane Shultz led a short business meeting. "Happy Birthday" was sung to Mary Stahl.

Milford Smith read a timely article on how Taps came to be. They were founded by the Union father of a
young Confederate soldier killed in action in the Civil War, and have since become a part of all
military funerals. He also told how Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, came to be a
national holiday.
All the fathers were wished Happy Father’s Day.
The next meeting will be held July 7 at Bradner Park, with a picnic lunch. All area seniors are welcome.
