Bowling Green State University President Carol Cartwright is in the midst of an 11-day trip to Europe
visiting five universities that host BGSU study abroad programs.
University spokesperson Dave Kielmeyer said Tuesday the trip marks the first time in eight years that a
BGSU official has visited the schools.
The trip began June 29 and Cartwright will return Friday.
The schools are located in Alcala, Spain; Tours and Nantes in France; and Strasburg and Salzburg,
Austria.
Kielmeyer said the trip is largely the result of the recently adopted strategic plan that places emphasis
on undergraduate education. The programs abroad are for undergraduate students.
Cartwright is visiting with faculty, staff and students, along with attending meetings with local
officials such as an economic development agency, a chamber of commerce and a U.S. consulate general.
