Master Alpha Zeta
The chapter met June 5 at the home of Rose Emmerich. Nine members answered roll call with their favorite
color.
Marilyn Glenn presented Colleen Smith with the past president’s pin for an excellent year and a thank you
note from Jere Carr was read.
The social committee was thanked for the Mother’s Day celebration, when 10 members and three guests met
at Granite City Restaurant in Fallen Timbers on May 14. Guests included Mary Tonjes; Rebecca Joseph
recipient of the chapter’s Wilma Johnson Kidd nursing scholarship, and her mother, Linda Goodman. Betty
Goodman presented Rebecca a check for $750 toward her nursing education.
Marilyn Pahl read poems regarding Mother’s Day.
The annual steak fry will be held July 11 at 6 p.m. at the home of Nancy and Larry Germann. At the next
business meeting the members will select the dishes which they wish to bring.
Goodman attended a meeting for the May 20-22, 2011 Beta Sigma Phi convention, which will be held at the
Holiday Inn French Quarter, Perrysburg. The Bowling Green chapters have been asked to perform the
closing ceremony.
Emmerich gave the program on "Garden Torches." A wide variety of garden accents are available.
She then served a fruit dessert to the members.
The next business meeting will be June 18 at the home of Glenn, who will give the program on friendship.
