Wood County Committee on Aging
The Wood County Committee on Aging is looking for that special individual looking to help homebound seniors in their community stay in their home by delivering a hot, nutritious meal to their door.
Hot, pre-packaged meals are picked up at a specific location at 11 a.m., Monday through Friday, and delivered to homebound clients.
The opportunity is open to people of all ages with the only requirement being that you or someone you are sharing the meal route with has a dependable vehicle and possess a valid Ohio driver’s license with proof of auto insurance. This is a perfect opportunity for families and/or friends to do together or alone.
Training and maps are given to that special individual who is able to give up approximately 1-1/2 hours one (1) day a month or any combination of days to give back to their community.

Is seeking people age 18 and older for two volunteer programs:
• Exhibit guides work on zoo grounds to educate the public about the zoo and maintain visitor traffic. Of special note are the children's zoo, Nature's Neighborhood and the new Australian-themed exhibit Wild Walkabout that opens May 24.
• Clerical volunteers help prepare mailings, stuff envelopes, collate and organize binders and enter data.

Nature Preserve Stewardship Volunteers Needed at Kitty Todd Nature Preserve
Join The Nature Conservancy's passionate volunteers and staff in enjoying and taking care of Kitty Todd nature preserve - a jewel of The Oak Openings: a globally rare and wonderful natural area right here in your own backyard. On the first and third Saturday of each month from March through December we have volunteer work days often followed by a fun hike to learn about the plants and animals that call this place home. Volunteer Opportunities Available!
We have many in-shelter and out-of-shelter volunteer opportunities available. Some examples of these opportunities are cleaning staff, feline companions, dog walking, educational outreach, and staffing our fundraising events. Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities
Wood Lane Residential Services is looking for volunteers who are willing to spend time with its residents enjoying community events, reading, gardening, decorating, shopping, cooking, playing sports, going to the movies, and anything else that friends would do together. You may volunteer for an hour or sign up for long-term Community Friend projects. We are also seeking groups (churches, fraternities, sororities, community organizations, student classes, etc.) for large-scale, one-day projects. Internships are also available.
You will spend time with individuals who have physical and/or mental disabilities, and you will have fun!

Volunteers will assist and support Special Olympics athletes while playing golf and softball.

Wood County Court Appointed Special Advocates/ Guardian ad litem Program
Ongoing need for volunteers to serve as CASA/GAL
Volunteers needed to serve as CASA/GAL for a child who is alleged to be abused or neglected whose case is being heard by the Juvenile Court Judge. Volunteer is appointed to gather information about the child’s needs, advocate in court about child’s best interest, report to the Judge the information gathered and make recommendations and to monitor the child’s situation until a safe, permanent home is located. The CASA/GAL program provides extensive pre-service training and ongoing supports after appointment as a CASA/GAL.

Senior Independence Hospice
Looking for dedicated volunteers to serve seniors in the Wood and Lucas county area. Hospice is a special kind of caring that is person and family centered, and seeks to provide support and comfort to those facing a life limiting illness. Volunteers play a large role in this effort by sharing their skills and interests in a manner that enriches the quality of life for those they serve.
