Cantata offered
"A Festival of Hymns," a cantata by Hall Hopson of important hymn writers throughout history,
will be presented at 11 a.m. Sunday at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 315 S. College Dr., Bowling Green.
The cantata will be presented by St. Mark’s Choir, organ, brass, percussion, and narrators.
Meals for youth mission trip
HASKINS – The youth of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church will be serving meals to support the
group’s 2015 Detroit Youth Mission trip. There will be a "Fat Tuesday" brunch after church
this Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The youth is also providing supper at the Wednesday Lenten Church
prior to the 7 p.m. services starting March 12 with food served at 6 p.m. The public is welcome.
New members sought
NORTH BALTIMORE – Pastor Ralph Mineo of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in North Baltimore, is offering a
"New Member Class" on Sunday from 2 to 7 p.m. for those interested in exploring membership in
the Lutheran church, specifically at St. Luke’s.
To inquire about the class, contact Mineo at 419-257-3804. This class is open to anyone interested in
exploring church. At 5 p.m. a "Congregational Potluck Dinner and Conversation" will be held.
(Those participating in the class do not bring food for the meal.)
Program on health care
PERRYSBURG – The public is invited to attend "Obamacare, Carenet and You," at the Islamic
Center of Greater Toledo.
The program will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. with a dessert reception to follow.
Organizers say, the program will examine such topics as What does the law say? How do I get benefits? How
and where do I get help? Can I keep Carenet? How much will it cost?
The presentation will be led by Julie Grasson, M.ED., assistant director for Carenet and a navigator for
the Affordable Care Act. Those attending are asked to bring a dessert to share.
Music, meditation from Univ. of Notre Dame featured at St. Al’s
The University of Notre Dame Celebration Choir and Handbell Choir will be featured March 7 in a concert
at St. Aloysius Parish, 150 S. Enterprise, at 7:30 p.m.
The choirs will present music and meditations from Pope Francis’ "Evangedii Gaudium: The Joy of the
Gospel!"
There is no charge for admission, but a freewill offering will be collected to support music ministry at
the church.
Senior CSI event set
PERRYSBURG – CSI, Christian Seniors Interacting, invite all seniors in the area to attend its next
meeting is March 11 at Abundant Life No. 2, 200 Zoar Drive, Perrysburg. The event is held twice each
month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $3 charge for miscellaneous expenses.
The 11:30 a.m. Bible study will be led by Father Thomas Kodinattumkunnil of St. Rose Catholic Church.
Lunch is served at noon, provided by Geneva Health Services.
The program which follows will feature the Maumee Senior Center Choir.
Seniors should call Phyllis Morton at (419) 872-0846 for information and reservations which need to be
made by Thursday.
Menu incorrect
HASKINS – The menu for the Pancake Day on Saturday at Haskins Community Church features all-you-can-eat
pancakes, whole hog sausage, applesauce and a beverage. The menu was printed incorrectly last Friday.
