Session on grief offered
WATERVILLE - First Presbyterian Church of Waterville, in conjunction with Hospice of Northwest Ohio, will be hosting a one time, two-hour session about grief called, "Good Grief: The First Step."
This class provides participants a basic understanding of the experience of grief and loss. The class will be on Nov. 14, from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. in fellowship hall of First Presbyterian Church, 611 Farnsworth Road, Waterville.
Advance registration is required and can be made by calling Pastor Karen VanderPloeg at the church or for more information at 419-878-2806.
A light dinner will be provided with a $3 donation required for dinner.
Senior CSI event set
PERRYSBURG - CSI, Christian Seniors Interacting, invite all seniors in the area to attend its next meeting to be held Nov. 12 at Abundant Life No. 2, 200 Zoar Drive, Perrysburg.
The event is held twice each month from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. There is a $3 charge for miscellaneous expenses.
The 11:30 a.m. Bible study will be led by Pastor Tim Philabaum of Zoar Lutheran Church. Lunch is served at noon, provided by St. Clare Commons.
The program which follows will feature Deb Buker of Perrysburg Messenger Journal.
Seniors should call Phyllis Morton at (419) 872-0846 for information and reservations which need to be made by Thursday.
Otterbein hosts clergy
PEMBERVILLE - On Monday participants will consider spirituality through the mind of a person who has dementia. Cheryl Conley, MA, LSW, Alzheimer's Assn., will discuss the spirituality of caregivers, as well as others, who are ministering to the person with memory loss.
The goal of the presentation is to help pastors and lay leaders to understand what God means to a person with dementia.
She will also address various perceptions of God including God as a guide or one who punishes people for doing wrong.
Complimentary lunch will be served starting at noon.
Reservations were due Thursday, as space is limited. Call 419-833-8917, if interested to see if there is any additional space available.
