Falcon baseball loses
OXFORD — Miami scored a run in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday for a 5-4 win over Bowling Green in a
Mid-American Conference baseball game.
Brian Bien had three hits and two RBI for BG, and T.J. Losby had two hits. BG is 20-21 overall and 10-9
in the MAC. Miami is 21-14, 11-8.
BG men’s golf in sixth place
CARMEL, Ind. — Bowling Green’s men’s golf team is in sixth place after 36 holes of the Mid-American
Conference tournament at Prairie View Golf Club Friday. BG had a 591 total, while Kent State leads the
nine-team event with a 570 total.
BG’s Brett Rinker is tied for fifth with a 2-under-par 142 total on rounds of 73 and 69, while teammate
Chris Melvin is tied for 12th at 145 (72-73).
Falcon track beats Toledo
Bowling Green’s track team was a 107-75 winner Friday over Toledo in a Mid-American Conference meet at
Whittaker Track.
BG’s individual winners were: Alicia Arnold, 100 (12.32); Brianna Johnson, 200 (25.92); Gabrielle
Edwards, 400 (60.30); Mackenzie McMillin, 3,000 (10:38); Natalie Sommerville, 400 hurdles (62.74); Raven
Porter, high jump (5-5), Long jump, (18-5); Tierra Parker, triple jump, 38-23?4); Makenzie Wheat, shot
put (44-71?2); Tina Perrien, discus (164-3); and Brooke Pleger, hammer throw (208-7).
BG also won the 400 relay where Johnson, Kera Lamotte, Parker and Arnold won in 47.24.
BG’s Kori Reiser, an Elmwood High School graduate, was second in the discus (162-8) and the hammer
(182-6).
Three Owens athletes honored
Three Owens Community College athletes earned Ohio Community College Athletic Conference player of the
week honors.
Lexi Williams was the softball pitcher of the week. She threw five shutout innings against over Lakeland
Community College, striking out five and allowing four hits.
Dru Sebastian was the baseball pitcher of the week. He had three wins last week, allowing three runs and
seven hits in 81?3 innings over four appearances. He struck out 12 and walked three.
Michael Finch was the baseball player of the week. He was 8-for-17 to go along with five runs, two
doubles, home run and five RBI.
Owens softball wins twice
Owens Community College’s softball team won two five-inning games against Grand Rapids CC Friday, posting
10-0 and 10-1 wins. The Express, ranked 19th nationally, are 23-7 overall.
In Game 1, Elmwood High School graduate Brittany George, Emily Morrow, Josie Hall and Taylor Miller each
had two hits for Owens. Lesley Ducat pitched a two-hitter striking out eight.
In Game 2, Emily Rockman had three hits, and Molly Gast, George, Tori Weidinger each had two. Gast and
Weidinger both homered, while George doubled twice. Williams and Ducat pitched a four-hitter.

CLEVELAND — Owens Community College’s baseball team split a doubleheader with Lakeland CC Friday.
The Express posted an 11-3 win in Game to 2 earn a split after Lakeland was a 6-5 winner in Game 1. The
second game was called after six innings because of darkness.
The Express are 18-24 overall and 9-13 in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.Lakeland is 12-29,
7-15.
In Game 1, Owens’ Tiger Jaso, a Lakota High School graduate, had two hits, a run and an RBI, and Marcus
Roza had two hits.
In Game 2, Jaso had two hits, three runs and an RBI; and Charlie Sipe, Chad Lupher and Michael Finch each
had two hits.
