Falcon baseball loses
Central Michigan scored twice in the ninth inning to erase a one-run deficit for a 7-6 win over Bowling
Green in a Mid-American Conference baseball game at Steller Field.
Andrew Kubuski had three hits for BG, while Brian Bien and Patrick Lancaster each had two.
The Falcons are 12-18 overall and 4-6 in the MAC. Central is 21-13, 9-1.
BG softball splits
AKRON — Chelsea Raker homered twice to lead Bowling Green’s softball team to a 4-1 win Friday over Akron
and a split of their Mid-American Conference opener.
Akron posted a 4-1 in the opener.
In Game 2, Raker hit a solo homer in the second inning to open the scoring and added a three-run homer in
the fifth for a 4-0 lead.
Raker finished 3-for-4, while Aspen Searle also had three hits, and Erika Stratton had two. BG’s Braiden
Dillow pitched a four-hitter, striking out four and walking none.
Searle homered in Game 1. BG resident Erin Seiler pitched a two-hitter for Akron, striking out nine and
walking three.
The Falcons are 16-19-1 overall and 4-4 in the MAC. Akron is 17-10, 3-3.
Falcon tennis beats Akron
Bowling Green’s tennis team improved to 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the Mid-American Conference Friday with a
6-1 win over Akron (10-13, 0-6) at Keefe Courts.
BG track leads All-Ohio meet
CINCINNATI — Bowling Green’s Brooke Pleger won the hammer throw Friday in the All-Ohio Championships.
Pleger, seventh in the NCAA meet last season, opened her outdoor season with a throw of 214-4. Her throw
was less than six feet shy of her personal best and placed her third in the nation.
Pleger defeated two strong competitors. Ashland’s Cynthia Watt, who ranks first in the country in NCAA
Division II, was second and Akron’s Brittany Funk, who ranks second in the country in NCAA Division I,
was third.
The Falcons lead the meet with 27 points, one ahead of Ohio.
Also for BG, Elmwood High School graduate Kori Reiser was eighth in the hammer (178-6).
Owens softball loses twice
Oakland Community College was a 6-4,14-6 winner over ninth-ranked Owens CC’s softball team Friday.
In the first game, Elmwood High School graduate Brittany George went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Owens, and
Emily Rockman was 1-for-4 with a two-run home run.
In the second game, George was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI, and Rockman hit a three-run homer.

Owens golf wins tourney
MIDDLETOWN — Owens Community College’s men’s golf team won its ninth straight tournament Friday, shooting
a 302 total to win the Miami-Hamilton Invitational at Elks Golf Course.
The Express, ranked first nationally, won by 16 strokes.
Harrison Long led Owens, shooting a 3-under-par 69 to win the individual championship.
The Express’ Brandon Hoelzer was second with a 72. Owens’ other scores were: Phillippe Weppernig, 77; and
Kirby Manown, 84
Youth golf planned
The Bowling Green County Club is offering memberships to 16- to 18-year-olds for $275, carts not
included.
Cart rental is available with a valid driver’s license.

Milnor fired for BG
Jerry Milnor had a 252 total for Bowling Green Rifle Team in its match earlier this week. His name was
inadvertently left out of a report of the match which was in Thursday’s Sentinel-Tribune.
