BG’s Johnson earns
All-Ohio academic honors
Bowling Green State University’s Leah Johnson has been named to the 2012 Academic
All-Ohio women’s soccer team by the Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association
Johnson, a fifth-year senior, is an accounting major and had a cumulative grade-point
average of 3.97 at the time of nomination (prior to the end of the fall
semester).
Johnson finished her career with 66 games played and 57 starts for the Falcons. She
saw time at forward, midfield and defender spots during her BG career, and
recorded eight career points on two goals and four assists.
Owens women post win
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Jordyn Bond had a double-double and Emma-Jean Ricketts scored
23 points as the Owens Community College women’s basketball team survived an
upset bid to defeat Kellogg Community College, 69-62.
Bond finished the game with 16 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and five steals.
Ricketts added six rebounds, three steals, one assist and one block. She finished
9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
Breonna House came off the bench to score 11 points for Owens.
Owens is 12-5 overall.
