BG’s Bayer to play in East-West Shrine GameST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Bowling Green State University’s
Alex Bayer has accepted an invitation to play in the East-West Shrine football game on Jan. 14 Kickoff is
set for 4 p.m. at Tropicana Field.Bayer will be the first Falcon since Freddie Barnes to participate in the
game. Barnes played on the East team in the 2010 game.A tight end, Bayer is second on the team with 34
catches for 536 yards and three touchdowns. Bayer set a career high in the MAC championship game with seven
receptions for 124 yards and a score.Former Atlanta Falcons and Houston Oiler head coach Jerry Glanville, a
Perrysburg High School graduate, is the East head coach.BG women earn points in pollThe Bowling Green State
