basketball team won the Kalamazoo Valley tournament Saturday with a 90-57 win over Kellogg CC.Bikramjit
Gill led Owens with 18 points, while Kenny Jones added 17, Shaakir Lindsey had 15 and John Murry scored
12. Jones also had 10 rebounds and Lindsey had seven assists.On Friday, Owens Crallied from an
eight-point deficit in the final four minutes post a 79-76 win over Kalamazoo Valley.Lindsey had six
points and two steals down the stretch, including a layup that put Owens ahead for good at 76-75.Murry
had 17 points for Owens, while Andy Bachman had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Gill had 12 points, 13
rebounds and four blocked shots. Owens’ Tony Boykins and Lindsey each had 10 points.Owens, ranked 20th
nationally, is 11-3. The Express have won five straight games and eight of their last nine.
