Samuels-Thomas transfers to Quinnipiac
Former Bowling Green Falcon hockey forward Jordan Samuels-Thomas has transferred to Quinnipiac
University, according to Chris Heisbenberg’s NCAA Hockey Recruit Page, a website devoted to college
hockey recruiting.
It was announced in April that Samuels-Thomas would not be returning to the Falcons this fall.
The 6-foot-3, 198-pound wing was BG’s leading scorer in each of his two seasons, totaling 46 points in 71
games. He had 20 goals and 26 assists in his two seasons at BG.
Samuels-Thomas was a seventh-round draft choice of the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers in 2009.
Quinnipiac is an NCAA Division I school located in Hamden, Conn. Samuels-Thomas is from Windsor, Conn.
The Bobcats play in the Eastern College Athletic Conference. – GORDON
Otsego Jr. High sports start
TONTOGANY – The fall practice schedule for Otsego Junior High sports have been set.
The times are:
• Football begins practice Aug. 15, 2:45-5 p.m., meet at stadium;
• Volleyball begins practice Monday, 8-10 a.m. (eighth grade), 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (seventh grade),
Junior High gym;
• Cross country has started, 8-10 a.m. at Mary Jane Thurston State Park, Grand Rapids.
For all practices, athletes should bring a completed physical, proper clothing attire and water bottle.
