Falcon baseball earns weekend split
The Bowling Green State University baseball team posted a 17-8 win over Central Michigan Sunday in a
Mid-American Conference game. The Falcons are 13-19 overall and 5-7 in the Mid-American Conference.
BG’s top hitters were: Trey Keegan, 3-for-5, double, home run, two RBI; Jeremy Shay, 3-for-5, double,
four RBI; Brian Bien, 2-for-4, three RBI; T.J. Losby, 2-for-3, triple; and Logan Walker, 1-for-3, home
run, three RBI.
On Saturday, Keegan singled twice in the Falcons 16-2 loss to Central.
BG softball loses twice
ATHENS – Ohio pushed across a run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to post a 3-2 win
over Bowling Green in a Mid-American Conference game Sunday, BG is 16-21-1 overall and 4-6 in the MAC.

Amanda Durham and Katie Yoho each hit a solo home run for the Falcons
On Saturday, BG had just three hits in a 6-0 loss to Ohio. Durham singled twice for BG.
Pettigrew wins All-Ohio 100
CINCINNATI – Jeanette Pettigrew from Bowling Green State University won the 100 at the All-Ohio
championships Saturday, finishing in a personal-best 11.89.
Bowling Green was fifth in the team standings with 67 points. Akron won the 15-team meet with 199 points.

BG’s Natalie Sommerville was second in the 400 hurdles, running a personal best 1:02.32.
Also for BG, Krystin Reiser posted the ninth-best score in school history in the heptathlon, finishing
seventh overall with 4.529 points. She won the 800 in the event.
BG’s Bartell wins invitational
Lily Bartell, a Bowling Green State University sophomore, won the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational with
a 151 total on rounds of 76 and 75 at Stone Ridge Golf Club.
Ball State won the 15-team event with a 628 total. Bowling Green was third at 637.
Also scoring for BG were: Bailey Arnold, tied for 21st, 162; Patricia Holt, tied for 29th, 164; Shelby
Wilson, tied for 35th, 165; and Hannah Lewis, tied for 49th, 167.
BG’s B team was 14th with a 673 total. Lauren Diehl, from Perrysburg High School, finished in a tie for
65th with a 171 total.
Falcon tennis wins
The Bowling Green State University tennis team won its fourth straight match Saturday beating Buffalo,
5-2. BG is 10-6 overall and 4-2 in the Mid-American Conference.
Senior co-captains Nikki Chiricosta and Emily Reuland won at both singles and doubles against the Bulls.
Sophomore Katie Brozovich and freshman Harley Hutchison each won two matches against UB as well.
Gill named All-American
Owens Community College forward Bikramjit Gill has been named a NJCAA Division II third-team All-American
in men’s basketball.
Gill averaged 15.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.4 blocks and 1.3 steals over 30 games. He finished seventh in
the nation in blocked shots.
Gill will play at Ball State next season.
Owens golf wins invitational
CINCINNATI – Brandon Hoelzer was the medalist with a 74 as the No. 1 Owens Community College men’s golf
team won the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference South Invitational Sunday. The Express finished
with a 309 total.
Other scores for Owens were: Dru Hein and Kirby Manown, 77 each; Philippe Weppernig, 78; and Harrison
Long. 80.
On Saturday, Owens shot a 307 total to finish second in the Cincinnati State Invitational. Cincinnati
State won with 305.
Owens’ Long finished second with a 73. The Express’ other scores were: Hoelzer, 75; Weppernig, 78; and
Hein, 81.
Walleye end season with loss
TOLEDO – Cincinnati beat Toledo, 4-1 Sunday in the ECHL regular-season finale. The Walleye finish
21-44-4-3.
Kyle Rogers scored for Toledo. Hannu Toivonen made 31 saves for the Walleye.
On Saturday in Fort Wayne, the Komets beat the Walleye, 4-3 in a shootout. Max Shalunov scored twice for
Toledo and Brett Perlini scored once. Jared Coreau made a career-high 50 saves.
Mud Hens post 20-8 win
LOUISVILLE – J.D. Martinez hit two home runs and had six RBI as Toledo pounded Louisville, 20-8 Sunday in
an International League game.
Also for Toledo, Hernan Perez and James McCann combined to go 8-for-13 with six RBI and Daniel Fields hit
a home run.
Indianapolis posted a 6-3 win Saturday. Mike Hessman hit a two-run home run for the Mud Hens.
