BGSU’s Rogers all-region nominee
ATLANTA – Bowling Green State University senior Alexis Rogers is one of 52 regional finalists for the
Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Division I Coaches’ All-America Team.
Rogers earns the all-region nomination for the second time in three years. She also received the honor in
2012.
A redshirt senior, Rogers leads the Falcons in scoring and ranks second in rebounding, with 14.3 points
and 8.1 boards per contest. She currently ranks ninth in the league in both scoring and rebounding, and
is one of just four players in the conference to be ranked among the top-10 in both categories.
The selection committee will review the 52 candidates and select the 10-member WBCA Division I Coaches’
All-America Team from that list.
Falcon softball postponed
ANN ARBOR, Mich. – Tuesday’s Bowling Green Falcon softball game at Michigan was postponed because of
weather. A makeup date was not announced.
Owens soccer clinic canceled
Owens Community College women’s soccer program canceled its clinic for Saturday. If anyone has questions,
call the Owens athletic department at (567) 661-7972.
Shootout winners announced
Bowling Green Parks and Recreation held the annual March Madness Shootout Contest recently at the Bowling
Green Community Center.
Nearly 100 participants attended the shooting contest for ages 3-and-older.
The age group winners were: 3-4, Landen Stone, 35 points (Bowling Green); 5-6, Chase Betts, 20 (Bowling
Green); 7-8, Brayden Freyman, 29 (Bowling Green); 9-10, Ryan Jackson, 22 (Bowling Green); 11-12, Callie
Scheier, 34 (Bowling Green); 13-14, Ethan Dewese, 20 (Bowling Green); 15-18, Collin Dewese. 23 (Bowling
Green); 19-35, Jerome Griffin. 24 (Weston), 36-and-up, Jeffrey Mangette, 30 (Bowling Green).
