Apthorpe, Losby nominated for Senior Class Award in baseball
Bowling Green’s Cody Apthorpe and T.J. Losby are two of the 30 nominees for the Senior Class Award in
college baseball.
To be eligible for the award, players have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community,
classroom, character and competition.
Apthorpe has a 3.874 grade-point average in middle childhood education. Losby has a 3.242 gpa in
accounting.
BGSU gymnasts earn MAC awards
CLEVELAND – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team had three athletes earn All-Mid-American
Conference honors.
Sophomore Alyssa Nocella was named to the five-person first-team, while senior Megan Harrington and
freshman Lauren Feely were two of the five second-team honorees as voted on by the league’s coaches.
With the team’s top floor routine score this year, Nocella has anchored the Falcons’ lineup.
She scored a 39.350 in the all-around at Kent State, a score that only two other Falcons in program
history have surpassed.
She also had a career-best 9.900 on floor at that meet, one of the top 10 scores ever at BGSU.
Nocella has also posted personal best scores of 9.875 on balance beam, 9.850 on uneven bars and 9.800 on
vault.
Four times this year she has recorded an all-around score of 39.000 or better and she has the
second-highest all-around regional qualifying score in the MAC this year.
Harrington earned MAC second-team all-conference honors for the second consecutive season.
She has been dominant on floor this year, posting a 9.900 at Kent State and recording three of the team’s
six scores of 9.875 or better this year on the apparatus.
Harrington has also posted a 9.850 on the balance beam twice and a 9.800 on vault.
She scored a personal best 39.100 at the Chicago Style Meet in the all-around and added a 39.075 against
Central Michigan.
Feely made an immediate impact for the Falcons in her first collegiate season.
She has been one of the team’s most consistent vaulters, scoring a team season-best 9.900 in the event.
Six other times
Feely has scored at least 9.800 on vault this year.
She has also spent considerable time competing in the all-around, posting a personal best 38.975 at the
Chicago Style Meet.
