Reed named BG men's soccer assistant
Eric Reed has been an assistant coach for Bowling Green's men's soccer team, Falcon coach Eric Nichols announced Monday.
Reed spent the last two seasons working with the goalkeepers at Davidson.
Reed has played for the Charlotte Eagles of the USL Pro League the last three seasons.
He was a finalist for the league's goalkeeper of the award in both 2011 and '13 and helped the Eagles to the championship game in the latter year.
Reed attended UCLA, where he started at least 16 matches in each of his final three seasons. As a junior in 2005, he earned All-Pacific Athletic Conference 10 first-team honors after leading the Bruins to the conference title.
In his senior season of 2006, Reed recorded shutouts in three of five NCAA Tournament games, as UCLA advanced to the championship match.

The Bowling Green Pee Wee League will hold an organizational meeting Monday night at 6:30 in the Henschen Building at Carter Park.
