BG’s Alt earns academic honor
CLEVELAND – Andrea Alt, from Perrysburg High School, has been named to the honorable mention
All-Mid-American Conference academic team for Bowling Green State University cross country.
BG’s Mackenzie McMillin, Maria Meredith, and Becca Rae were first-team selections. Lindsay Kaatz was on
the honorable list.
On the men’s team. BG’s Jason Salyer and Greg Black were named to the all-academic team. Tim Jurick,
Jeremy Richard and Joe van Bolderen earned honorable mention recognition.
BG women’s soccer players earn academic honors
CLEVELAND – Three Bowling Green State University women’s soccer standouts have been named to the Academic
All-Mid-American Conference Team. Lauren Cadel, Jenny Fowler and Madeline Wideman all were chosen to the
team.
Both Fowler and Wideman earned academic All-MAC honors for the second time. Cadel was named to the team
in her first year of eligibility for the award.
Owens men win
The Owens Community College men’s basketball team posted an 83-69 win over Cuyahoga CC Wednesday.
Owens’ leaders were: Andy Bachman, 21 points, eight rebounds; John Murry, 19 points; Tony Boykins, 11
points; Kenny Jones,, 10 rebounds; and Shaakir Lindsey, eight assists.
Aaron Ashley scored 38 points for Cuyahoga CC.
Owens is 14-4 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference.
Express women win
Five players scored in double figures for the Owens Community College men’s basketball team posted an
87-51 win over Cuyahoga CC Wednesday.
Owens’ leaders were: Paige Wright, 15 points; Kamilah Carter, 14 points; Zhana Randolph and Kheri Motley,
12 points each; and Ashley Tunstall, 10 points, 11 rebounds.
Owens is 15-1 overall and 1-0 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference, having won 15 straight
games.
