It’s curious to read Dr. Feeman’s fairy tale position equating more gun control with a lessening of
violence in this country. It’s a position taken by naive people that do not understand that the removal
of firearms from the honest and law-abiding population will just turn them into victims. Criminals will
not abide by any of those laws and they will still have the guns. Look at the UK where private firearm
ownership was severely restricted and firearms in private homes of law-abiding people are practically
eliminated. Home invasions and burglaries sky-rocketed, because the bad guys knew they would not
encounter any armed resistance, except for maybe granny with a steak knife. In the USA, those cities
with the most restrictive gun control laws, such as Chicago and Washington, D.C., have the highest crime
rates.
If Dr. Feeman was truly concerned about "the needless slaughter that goes on daily," (his own
words), then perhaps he should look at his own profession. Medical mistakes kill many, many more people
in the United States than guns.
