To the Editor: Neighborhood problems cited in Hammansburg

0

I’m writing as I’m tired of what is going on in Hammansburg. I have had an ongoing problem there. From my
house being broken into, landscaping being stolen, neighbor trespassing, and tires being disposed of on
my property.
I have had the Sheriff out here several times. But all I get is excuses, things like; if you didn’t see
it you can’t do anything. I was also told that I had to have my property surveyed, which I have owned
this property since 1989.
I have done everything possible to protect my property. I have put up cameras, put in alarms, and secured
the windows. With the last two incidents I haven’t called the Sheriff as I feel what the use is. As the
Sheriff don’t want to do their job, or something.
The most recent incident was more landscaping being stolen. Which prior to that I had just had my
daughter, and son-in-law move the landscaping from the front of my house.
I moved the plants to the east side of my house, as it’s the only neighbor out here that seems to be able
or willing to say anything. However they’re usually away on Sundays. I guess the thing that bothers me
the most is, none of this started going on until a family moved into the neighborhood in around 2004 or
so.
After they left it all stopped, however somehow they were able to move back. Now it has started again,
trespassing, landscaping being stolen etc. … So I ask the question; how is it that all of this can go on
in this neighborhood yet no one seems to see anything. Yet they all seem to notice when I go there!
