BLOOMINGBURG, Ohio (AP) — Sheriff's deputies say a 23-year-old man was found dead in a house that was heavily damaged by fire in a central Ohio village.

The Fayette County Sheriff's Office identified the man killed in the Tuesday fire in Bloomingburg as Joshua G. Helsel.

After the fire was discovered Tuesday afternoon, family members told deputies that Helsel may be trapped in the home. His body was found during a search hours later.

The state fire marshal's office is investigating, but the sheriff's office says it doesn't appear to be suspicious.

Bloomingburg is in Fayette County, about 35 miles southwest of Columbus.
