ALEXANDRIA, Ohio (AP) — Residents of a small town east of Columbus gathered to remember three teenagers
killed when a speeding vehicle went off the road and struck a tree.
The candlelight vigil Thursday night in Johnstown was organized after the three teens were killed earlier
in the day in Licking County near Alexandria, about 35 miles east of Columbus.
The victims were 17-year-old Michael Hoskinson, 15-year-old Linzie Bell and 15-year-old Cheyenne
Spurgeon, all of Johnstown. The Ohio State Highway Patrol says they were riding in the back seat when it
crashed. The force of the impact tore the 2003 Mitsubishi Diamante nearly in half.
The patrol says the driver, 16-year-old Jaylynn Rigio, and the front-seat passenger, 16-year-old Ashton
Cody, both of Johnstown, were injured and taken to Columbus hospitals.
