LORDSTOWN, Ohio (AP) — Last year was a good one for the Ohio-built Chevrolet Cruze.
Sales of the General Motors compact increased by 4.4 percent in 2013, according to The Vindicator
newspaper (http://bit.ly/1f0xyZ6 ). The car is
built in the GM plant in Lordstown, near Youngtown in northeast Ohio.
The
overall increase came despite a 14.5-percent decrease in sales in
December, according to figures released Friday. The Cruze sold 18,162
units last month, compared with 21,230 during the same period a year
ago.
But sales of the Cruze for the year registered 248,224 units — 10,466 more than in 2012.
The Cruze is Chevrolet’s second best-selling vehicle behind the Silverado pickup truck.
GM’s overall sales also were up for the year.
