CINCINNATI (AP) — A southwest Ohio man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison as part of a plea deal in
the fatal stabbing of his stepson in December.
Fifty-year-old John Cainion was sentenced Wednesday in Cincinnati after pleading guilty to manslaughter
in the slaying of his wife’s son, 26-year-old Cody Sullivan.
Prosecutors say Sullivan was stabbed in the back while arguing with Cainion over the theft of illegal
drugs on Dec. 19.
The Cincinnati Enquirer (http://cin.ci/1hQJwqq ) reports that Cainion’s family said in court that he had
become an irrational addict whose paranoia and anger led him to attack his stepson.
Cainion has a history of crimes in Ohio, Alabama, Georgia and Florida.
