DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) — An ex-Ohio doctor has beensentenced to more than 36 years in prison for
raping and killing anexpectant mom who died after receiving a fatal heroin overdose.Former emergency
room doctor Ali Salim had faced up to 37 years in prison when he appeared in court Friday
afternoon.ADelaware County judge handed down the sentence in the case involving awoman forced to turn to
prostitution to support her two young childrenafter a divorce.Assistant County Prosecutor Kyle Rohrer
says victim Deanna Ballman died after answering a Craigslist ad offering $200.The44-year-old Salim
pleaded guilty in October to rape and involuntarymanslaughter after he was accused of injecting Ballman
with heroin.Rohrer says there’s no evidence Ballman used drugs.The judge is calling her death the worst
