Sue Ellen (McGuire) Spangenberg passed away peacefully at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 27, 2014, in her
home with her family by her side.
Sue was born at home to her parents Grover and Helen McGuire on July 7, 1944. She was one of 11 children.

She married Richard Wayne Spangenberg on October 22, 1964 and they were blessed with five children who
survive her: Cindy Spangenberg, Tonya (Jeff ) Helvoigt, both of Bowling Green; Richard (Jackie)
Spangenberg of Custar; Mike (Cheryl) Spangenberg of North Baltimore; and Randy (Heidi) Spangenberg of
Weston; 11 grandchildren: Michael Jr. (Bethanie), Ryan, Abbigail (Dustin), Easton, Logan, Jacob,
Madison, Erin, McKenzie, Ethan and Adelyn; five great-grandchildren: Rowan, Thain, Bryson, Kolton and
Alayna.
Sue is also survived by three brothers: W. David (Donita), Thomas and Clyde Edward McGuire; four sisters:
Margaret Nialene Jasper, Sharon McGuire, Peggy Rausch and Rhonda (Marvin) Bovia; sisters and
brothers-in-law: Bridget (Gregg) Davis, Beverly Frabott and Jack Spangenberg; as well as many uncles,
aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Albert, Dennis and Nial McGuire, as well as her
in-laws Richard and Maxine Spangenberg.
Sue was a member of the VFW Post #1148 in Bowling Green. She was an avid bowler, having bowled 40 years
on leagues in Toledo and Bowling Green and is a member of the Bowling Hall of Fame in Bowling Green. Her
favorite past time was playing bingo in Tontogany where she made many friends.
She liked to crochet and spending time with her kids and grandchildren at their sporting events, but her
greatest joy was spending time with Richard her husband of 49 years.
Visitation will be Friday May 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DECK-HANNEMAN FUNERAL HOME
& CREMATORY, 1460 W. Wooster St., P.O Box 648, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402, where her funeral
service will be on Saturday May 3, 2014 at 11 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow in the Wood County Memory Gardens.
A luncheon will follow at the Milton Township Fire Department.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sue’s memory to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River
Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
