Phyllis Jean Rhoad, age 87, of Fostoria, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday (May 9, 2014) at Heritage
Nursing Home in Findlay, Ohio.
She was born on February 22, 1927 in Seneca County, Ohio to the late Roy and Avis (Phillips) Souder. She
married Albert L. Rhoad on September 13, 1947 in Catlettsburg, Kentucky and he passed away on December
5, 2008.
Surviving is a son, Dr. Jeffrey and Barbara (Bruns) Rhoad of Fostoria, Ohio; daughter, Jamie Lynn (Dean)
Taylor of Blissfield, Michigan; grandchildren, Brant and Jaymie (Zienta) Rhoad, Ty Rhoad, Kyle and
Lindsey (Phillips) Rhoad, Neil Taylor; great-grandchildren, Lucy Skyler Rhoad and Delilah Page Rhoad.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Marjorie Lamb and Geraldine Moyer.
Phyllis retired in 1985 from Lakota Schools, where she was a school secretary.
She was a 1945 graduate of Bloomdale High School where she was the class valedictorian.
Services will be private. Burial will be in Fountain Cemetery in Fostoria, Ohio.

Hilliard, Ohio 43026, or to the Hancock County Humane Society Medical Fund, 4550 Fostoria Avenue,
Findlay, Ohio 45840 or to a charity of donor’s choice.
