Paul Blake, 87, of Findlay and formerly of North Baltimore, passed away at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Grand Court, Findlay.
He was born on October 20, 1926, in North Baltimore, to the late James and Pearl (Bland) Blake. He married Nina J. Wohlgamuth on May 27, 1950, and she preceded him in death on January 9, 2004.
Paul is survived by his sons: Larry J. (Deborah) Blake of Findlay and Robert S. (Bonnie) Blake of Carmel, IN; his daughters: Nancy Medley of Findlay and Cathy (Blair) Basye of Naples, FL; his brothers: Bob (Stella) Blake of North Baltimore and Frank Blake of Findlay; his sister, Ruth Gonyer of North Baltimore; his grandchildren: Chad Blake, Erin Reed, Nicholas Blake, Matthew Blake, Morgan Young, Blake Basye and Andrew Blake; his great-grandchildren: Blake Reed, Greyson Reed, Kylan Blake, Dylan Young and Colton Young.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Ann Blake; his brothers: John, Ernest, Woodrow, Carl, Bill, and Tuffy Blake; his sisters: Betty Courtney, Evelyn Basil and Edith Dennis.
Paul was a retired Truck Driver for Commercial Motor Freight.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served our country in World War II.
Paul was a member of the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles #2633.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2013, at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore, with Reverend Susan Kronbach officiating. Burial will be in New Maplewood Cemetery, North Baltimore, where full military rites will be conducted by the North Baltimore American Legion Post 539.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME, North Baltimore.
Memorial contributions may be made to the North Baltimore Public Library and/or Diabetes Association of Northwest Ohio.
